04.07.2008.In the last period, Mladjan Janovic, Aleksandar Ivovic and Predrag Jokic scored goals that brought first win in the history for Montenegro on European championships. After Spain had two goals lead, they thought they will cruise to victory, but our team started to dictate tempo at that moment, and absolutely deserved the win.
After this match, all members of our team were very emotional, but our players and coaching staff will certainly be concentrated on matches that are ahead of us, first of which is against Greece, today. Greece had no problems with Slovakia in first match, and won easily.
PETAR POROBIĆ (head coach): This is history. First European championship and very tough first game - and we managed to win. This is just the beginning, though, I said before this game that we cannot celebrate too much in case of victory, neither can we let some defeat get to us. We have to be patient and concentrated. Match against Greece will be even harder then first one.
