ADRIATIC LEAGUE STARTS IN SEPTEMBER

Twelve chosen ones


Adriatic water polo league will start in September. Twelve clubs will compete: three Montenegrin clubs: Jadran CKB, Primorac and Budvanska rivijera, one club from Slovenia - Kopar, and eight Croatian clubs: Mladost, Jug, Jadran(Split), POSK, Mornar, Primorje, Sibenik, Medvescak.
Presidents of national federations have signed the contract that officially starts the league that will last at least four years.
- This is historical moment - saide Srđan Kovačević, president of Montenegrin swimming and water polo federation.
President of Croatian water polo federation, Perica Bukic said that he is certain that Adriatic league has bright future:
- We will also have competitions for youth teams. We are aware that the best water polo is played here and that's why we are happy that we managed to pull this idea off together - said Bukić.
Slovenia will be represented by Kopar.
- We are satisfied that one of our teams will compete in the strongest European water polo league. We will gain experiene and hopefully, help Adriatic league develop further. We will do our best - said Matjaz Rakovec.
- This is the right move - Said president of Jadran CKB, Đuro Marić. - This league has a lot of advantages. This competitions is very good for us and one of its goals is for players to have as many hard matches during the season, agains quality teams.
President of Budvanska rivijera Aleksandar Tičić said that every player likes to play in the strongest competition, and Adriatic league is that, in this moment.
- This is a good way to make water polo even more popular. It is important, not only for our clubs, but also for national team, as we will have a lot of interesting matches.
