2007 was the year of success. First official game, their debut in World League was unsuccessful. As well as their last game in qualifications for European championship. Everything in between of those two games – a story of success told by the coach Petar Porobic and his players. The one that the whole world now knows. It all started in Manchester, at the European “B” championship, when they won the gold medal without any problems. That was followed by the gold medal at the Universiade in Bangkok, and then their battled their way to Olympic games on the Bratislava tournament. At the end – they qualified for European Championship in Malaga. Now, they won the award for the best team in Montenegro for the year 2007
-I am very happy for the award that Aleksandar Ivovic won – said coach Porobic. - Our award is well deserved, because we indeed were very successful last year. Hopefully, 2008. will be as good as 2007. I don't think we're still fully aware of what we've done so far. We won gold medal on the first big competition our country entered. After that, we qualified for Olympic games, won European “B” championship and qualified for European championship in Malaga.

We asked coach Porobic if it is realistic to expect the team to win the medal, or at least to be amongst the top five teams on EC in Malaga and on Olympic games?
-Well, what I can say for sure, is that we had very tough draw for Eurepean championship. We are drawn against some of the strongest teams in the world. We will do our best to succeed at both competitions, but it will be very hard.

Vice-presidend of VPSCG, Aleksandar Ticic, was very happy for the award.
-To be quite honest, I expected this award. Simply because we were absolutely the best in 2007. I'm glad that Aleksandar Ivovic won the award for the best athlete, as well as Nikola Janovic, who was amongst the best Montenegrin athletes that plays abroad.
